Our Story

At Salute Italian Restaurant, we didn’t just open a restaurant—we opened our home. In 1992, three sisters, Anna, Gemma, and Ida, made a promise to bring authentic homemade Italian cooking to Racine, just as they learned from their family in Italy. Every sauce was simmered with care, every pasta rolled by hand, and every guest was welcomed like family.

Growing up surrounded by that kind of love—the kind shared through a slow Sunday sauce, fresh pasta made by hand, and a table that always had room for one more—doesn’t leave you. It becomes part of who you are.

Authentic Italian, Made the Right Way

For more than 33 years, Racine has watched this family pour its heart into Salute. Today, a new generation is helping carry on that tradition—not to change what Salute is, but to ensure it never disappears.

The Nonnas aren’t just a memory here. Gemma, Ida, and Anna are still in the kitchen, still hand-rolling pasta, still preparing homemade sauces, and still cooking with the same love they brought through these doors in 1992.
